[She really hates to do this. It's a terrible first impression... but safety first. Sorry, other-me, you're getting a hand mirror shoved in front of you so you're forced to look at your own reflection.

[...Nothing happens, so she lowers it and offers an apologetic smile.]

[She looks a bit sheepish and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.]

Well, it's just that I had to be sure you weren't a mirror. It's... it's a long story.

Nope, I'm just me! [Busy examining the other her though.] So...wonder how this can be possible.

[The other her who hasn't aged a day in the year she's been away.]

I'm glad to hear it. The other versions aren't very fun to run into... mostly.

[She tilts her head.] I don't know. It's interesting, though. I never thought I'd run into another real me.

You've run into other versions though? Like...fake versions? Tell me about it. If that's okay.

Well, not here. [She takes a deep breath.] In a place called Wonderland that's very different from the one Sora knows, every resident has a mirror version made of them by the Queen of Hearts. These mirrors are... they're the exact opposite of the normal person. I'm told my mirror version is very manipulative and cruel.

The thing with mirrors is that they can't technically be on the same side as their real version, but with the craziness of this place, I had to be sure. Forcing them to look at their reflections sends them back.

So, sorry about the confusion.

Seriously? That...that's terrible! In that case, don't even apologize, I don't mind. But last time I checked, I'm pretty real.

I don't normally carry a hand mirror around, but I think it's probably something I should do anyway. Usually, you can tell with the mansion if they're going to do something strange on the other side.

[She smiles, though, and brightly at that.] I can tell now. You didn't disappear when I showed you the mirror and you're much nicer than I'd imagine our mirror version to be.

I would to be on the safe side, especially if you have to deal with something like that. What mansion?

[There's a matching smile soon appearing on Kairi's face.] Thanks. I was a little worried about meeting you after hearing some of the horror stories going around, but you're nice, too.

Wonderland. That's all I know about its name. We don't really know a whole lot about it. I think the queen just likes to keep us in the dark.

Horror stories? Like what?

Is she a queen like the one Sora met? Or different?

There are so many versions of Riku running around, and Axel was telling me about some of the people he's met. Picture Xigbar with breasts.

She's... worse. Much worse. It's like living with a more menacing version of Namine, complete with memory powers, and not being able to see her because she lives on the mirror side.

....what?! [She looks shocked at that.]

That's awful. And just downright scary. She can really just alter your memories whenever she wants to?

It really is. I'm not sure if it's an ability of the mansion itself or of the queen, but every event is based off someone's memories... and it seems like once she gets the idea or if you've been there long enough, she can strip you of your memories completely. I know several people who have lost memories already and there are some words I know I can't say anymore. I wish I knew which, though...

[She's reeling.] That's terrible!

That sounds worse than most of the other things I've heard of before. There's really no way out, nothing? That...[Just shakes her head because wow what.]

I know! I haven't seen him...her, I guess, but I've heard about it.

I haven't heard of one. A lot of people are looking, but so far... nothing. I'm not giving up, though. There has to be a way home.

...I'm going to be glad I haven't, either.

Well I mean, if it's a mansion there should be a door. There's always a door, right?

Yeeeah. Just keep an eye out for some of the people out there. It's getting weird.

Well, yes, and you can go outside, but the further you walk, the further away the gate and fence are. You could run forever and never go anywhere. [She sighs.]

It's all right. It could be worse, I guess. And Arland took me out for a ride on his snowmobile. That was a lot of fun. Sora would have loved it.

Would have...oh, Sora's not with you? Is Riku?

No. Neither of them are anymore. They've both been there, Sora's been three times, but they left. I hope they're home.
